Zilla Panchayat, Belgaum

The state of Karnataka replaced the Karnataka Zilla Parishads, Taluka Panchayat Samithis, Mandal Panchayat and Nyaay Panchayat Act, 1983 by Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993. Grama Panchayat is the first tier of Panchayat Raj institution which comprises of a village or group of villages.

Official structure of Zilla Panchayat is headed by the Chief Executive Officer who is assisted by senior class one officers.

President of Zilla Panchayat is the administrative and financial head of Zilla Panchayat. There are five standing committees which help in decision making pertaining to various departments.
