The Press Information Bureau (PIB) is the nodal agency of the Government of India to disseminate information to the print and electronic media on its various policies and programmes.
The PIB acts as an interface between the Government and the media and the Information Officers serve as official spokesmen for the Government.
The organization is headed by the Principal Information Officer at the national level.
